albany road residence
An openness to the previously compartmentalized apartment has been achieved, connecting views of the established gardens to the south through to the urban fabric to the north, increasing access to fresh air, light and landscape aspects throughout all spaces. A restrained material palette draws its cues from the original exterior material palette of almond entrance tiles, stacked brickwork and limewashed timber batten panelling. The essence and linear rhythm of the existing exterior have been expressed through the linearity of the linen curtains, fluted joinery and stone panelling and the linear grain of the timber selected throughout.
